The FIFPRO Team of the Year, a prestigious accolade honoring the finest male and female footballers on the international stage, is bestowed by the International Federation of Professional Footballers. Initially known as the FIFPRO World 11, this honor was established in 2005 to recognize the top soccer talents as chosen by their peers. In 2009, a collaboration with FIFA led to a name change to the "FIFA FIFPRO World 11," colloquially referred to as the FIFA Team of the Year, while maintaining the original voting process. Commencing in 2024, FIFPRO will independently manage the award, reverting to its original title: the FIFPRO World 11.
The FIFPRO Team of the Year is an exclusively player-voted global accolade that stands alone in the football realm. This distinguished honor is based on the performances of players from around the globe, with the evaluation period spanning from August 4, 2025, to July 19, 2026. To qualify, a player must have participated in at least 30 official matches during this designated timeframe.
The ultimate lineup will consist of one goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders, three forwards, with the remaining slot allocated to the non-goalie player who has received the most votes.
